"Spencer", our third transmitter turtle of the season, is named for Spencer Michael Moberg, a student at Deerfield Middle School in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Spencer created a project called "Passion Project 8th Grade" in 2016 where he raised $3,000 for the Sea Turtle Preservation Society of Melbourne Beach. They, in turn, decided to provide a satellite transmitter in his name, to learn more about male green turtles. Thanks to Spencer Moberg and to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society for funding this tag! Photo coming soon!
