Whilst activities such as nest screening can directly reduce nest loss, another major part of this work involves a public awareness campaign and liaison with local authorities in an attempt to decrease threats and gain protective status for the most important nesting sites. At our main base at Alagadi, part of our accommodation includes a small information centre where both local people and tourists are welcome to come and find out more about marine turtles. In addition a campaign using notice boards and leaflets is mounted each year.
