Satellite TrackingMajestic - Blue Sharks of the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean A project of DINARA and CICMAR. Static Map | Zoom Map | Majestic has been swimming towards the East during the last 10 days, and she has traveled more than 6 thousand km in 98 days!
Background Majestic is an adult female blue shark, measuring 2,19 metres. With the aim of generating knowledge about her movements and habitat use, she was equipped with a satellite transmitter (Wildlife Computers SPLASH) by a scientific observer onboard a Uruguayan fishing boat. Majestic was captured in international waters of the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean on January 31st, at 03:43hs local time, and a few minutes later she was released back to the ocean!
