Static Map | Zoom Map | Animated Map (KB) Pingasut (Black-bellied Plover) is 17 km NW off the coast of Canada and 868 km from Mag Pole Background Pingasut (pronounced peen-ya-soot) is the Inuktitut word for 'three' because it was the third bird we deployed a transmitter on this field season. Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages of Nunavut in northern Canada, where Pingasut's breeding grounds are located.
