click map for full-size version Maia seemed to have reached her destination (the same spot as Posidonia) and then her transmissions stopped. We have not evidence to suggest why this occurred. It could be that tag was dislodged, or was damaged, or something less fortunate for the turtle.

Background

Maia is the third turtle to be tracked from Kyparissia Bay in 2018. In Greek mythology, Maia is the daughter of Atlas and the mother of Hermes (the god of communication and connectivity).
