A project of ARCHELON.

Neda's tag stopped working while she was still in Kyparissia Bay for nesting. We have no evidence to indicate the turtle is not alive and well and we hope to see her nesting again in a couple of years time, when we will be able to recognise her from her unique flipper tag IDs.

Background

Neda is the first turtle tracked by ARCHELON in Kyparissia Bay in 2018. In Greek mythology, Neda was a nymph of waters (nymphs were regarded as divine spirits animating nature). Neda is also the name of a river at the core nesting area of Kyparissia Bay!
