Background
"Richard" is 48cm (15 kg) green sea turtle that stranded with emaciation on Daytona Beach in April 2020. Through collaboration with the University of Florida Whitney Laboratory Sea Turtle Hospital and the Sea Turtle Conservancy, "Richard" was tagged with a satellite transmitter following successful rehabilitation. "Richard" is a size of sea turtle that is infrequently captured by in-water surveys, so has a high research interest value despite being a sample size (n) of one. The Telonics TAM-4310 transmitter weighs 150 g and represents 1% of body weight, and the frontal area (FA) drag is about 15% which falls within the "acceptable" category (Figure 3c) as noted by Jones et al. (2013).
