Background
Gina is a hawksbill captured on 3 July 2017 in the waters of Loreto, in the Gulf of California, Mexico. This turtle was caught by members of the research project lead by Lourdes Martinez Estevez and Don Croll from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Gina measured 68 cm (LCC). This effort would not have been possible without the hard work by Felipe and Juan Cuevas, and the support of WWF Marine Priority Species Program, Jeff Seminoff from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), The Rufford Small Grants Foundation, and Grupo Tortuguero de las Californias A.C.
