Background

Oh my God is a hawksbill captured on 25 June 2017 in the waters of Espiritu Santo island, Gulf of California, Mexico. This turtle was first caught in 2015 by Chuy Lucero from Grupo Tortuguero de las Californias A.C. In 2017 it was caught by members of the research project lead by Lourdes Martinez Estevez and Don Croll from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Oh my God measured 63.3 cm (LCC). This effort would not have been possible without the hard work by Felipe and Juan Cuevas, and the support of WWF-Mexico Marine Priority Species Program, Jeff Seminoff from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), The Rufford Small Grants Foundation, and Grupo Tortuguero de las Californias A.C.
