Background

This female green turtle was tagged after laying eggs with the assistance elf Sabah Parks rangers, and now carries tags 103791 on the left front flipper and 103780 on the right front flipper. Her new shiny satellite transmitter will help us learn about the interesting movements (where the turtles reside in the periods between laying eggs), and then about her migration routes and finally her foraging grounds (where she lives most of the time feeding). This data will allow us to develop more effective and robust collaborative conservation programmes for sea turtles in the Sulu Sulawesi Marine Ecoregion.

SEATURTLE.ORG collaborates with Argos to help scientists and conservationists manage and analyse their valuable animal tracking data.
