Background
Coiba is the second adult male hawksbill to be equipped with a satellite tag along Pacific Panama. He was encountered in Coiba National Park on February 02, 2016, by a team of researchers that has collaboratively conducted hawksbill monitoring at the site since 2014. The multi-national research team is made up of the Ministry of the Environment (MIAMBIENTE), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Pacific Hawksbill Initiative (ICAPO), Campamento Tortuguero Eco Mayto A.C. The project also receives financial support from MarViva and Conservación International.
