Background
Itzik is a sub-adult Loggerhead, who arrived at the rescue center on Jan 8th 2015 after it was found stranded on the beach in Bat Yam.
Itzik was very hypothermic because, being stranded on shore, it was exposed to the cold wind for several hours. At the rescue center we treated Itzik with warm fluids. A CT scan revealed that Itzik suffered from blast injuries â caused by underwater explosion, which damaged its lungs and inner ear.
It was a long recovery for Itzik, but after 10 months of rehabilitation it was finally ready to go back to sea. itzik was released on November 1st 2015, with a satellite transmitter, donated by the Israel electrical company.
