Satellite TrackingAtausiq - Black-bellied Plover Tracking (Canada) A project of Canadian Wildlife Service. Static Map | Locations for Black-bellied Plover, 'Atausiq' (Canadian Wildlife Service).
Background Atausiq (pronounced ah-taow-sick) is the Inuktitut word for 'one' because he was the first bird we deployed a transmitter on for this study (back in 2016). Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages of Nunavut in northern Canada, where Atausiq's breeding grounds are located. His 2016 transmitter fell off, and he was recaptured in 2019 and fitted with a new one.
