Background

Georgia was tagged on May 27, 2005 on Sapelo Island. She has a large growth on her carapace, possibly an old prop wound, which led us to give her the nick-name "Knobs" during the tagging process. Georgia also nested on the night she was tagged.

Georgia was named by 2nd grader Wyatt Gunthorpe. Wyatt is a student of Mrs. Patsy Pitt's at Mansfield Elementary in Mansfield, GA. He named after her home state.
