South Carolina DNR Sea Turtle Conservation Program

Parris Island is located in Port Royal, SC. It is a Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Special clearance is required to enter. After a series of storms, the side of the island facing Port Royal Sound has accumulated sand where sea turtle crawls have been documented. The first official nest monitoring effort began June 1, 2021.
