Beach Description

DeBordieu Beach
South Carolina DNR Sea Turtle Conservation Program

DeBordieu Beach is an unincorporated oceanfront gated community with single family homes and condominiums in Georgetown County. The northern part has well developed dunes and dune fields and a seawall exists. Renourishment has occurred on this beach and areas south of the seawall are erosional. Approximately 3.7 km of beach are surveyed.

This beach project historically was part of the larger South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts (SCUTE) volunteer group who collectively monitored approximately 78 km of beach in northern Georgetown and Horry Counties.
