Beach Description
South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts (SCUTE) monitor approximately 78 km of beach in northern Georgetown and Horry Counties. This area includes the following separately patrolled areas.
South Litchfield Beach has homes that are located behind the primary dunes. Erosional areas limit the amount of stable areas for nest relocation. The southern 1/3 of the beach is a gated community.
