Green turtle dies as a result of ingesting plastic

A necropsy examination conducted on a dead green turtle beach-washed at Fingal Head found that the turtle died as a result of ingesting plastic pieces which caused blocakages and susequent food and faecal impactions in the gut. Septicaemia and starvation was likely the cause of death.
