Background

Tortugirl was captured by a fisherman near Las Palmas harbor, Gran Canaria Island. She was sent to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Gran Canaria with a hook in her esophagus that was removed and when rehabilitated was released in Melenara beach (Gran Canaria Island). She was 51.5 cm of curve carapace length.
