Background

Tallirmiq (pronounced Ta-lure-mick) means 'Friday' in Inuktitut for the day of the week he was banded (it was Friday in our time zone, Saturday in GMT!). Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages of Nunavut in northern Canada where Tallirmiq's breeding grounds are located.
