Background

Kanataupullunga (pronounced Can-na-tauw-pool-loon-na) means 'Canada Day' in Inuktitut for the day he was tagged (July 1st). Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages of Nunavut in northern Canada where Kanataupullunga's breeding grounds are located.
