Background Aippiq (pronounced Ape-pick) means 'Tuesday' in Inuktitut for the day of the week he was banded. Inuktitut is one of the Inuit languages of Nunavut in northern Canada where Aippiq's breeding grounds are located. Aippiq had a nest with Quqsuqtuq during the 2016 breeding season.
