Satellite TrackingTom - Turks and Caicos Islands Turtle Project 2009 to 2018: Green & Hawksbill Turtles A project of Marine Conservation Society. Static Map | 17.06.13: After 1327 days of tracking, Tom's tag finally failed, sending its last transmission on the 20th May - he hadn't moved far from where he was released - well done Tom!
Background Tom is a male hawksbill landed by a fisher in South Caicos on the 30.09.09. The Turks and Caicos Islands Turtle Project took the turtle to the Lab where it was satellite tagged, then released the following morning close to where it was caught in the Seal Cays. He is named after the Project's PhD student Tom Stringell from the University of Exeter.
