Beach Description

The Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project is a conservation program of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
We protect Georgia's nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings by;
• Monitoring nesting activity,
• Educating the public on the issues related to sea turtles,
• Raising beachfront lighting awareness, and
• Fundraising to support our sea turtle efforts.
Our mission is to cultivate responsible stewardship of coastal Georgia’s natural resources through education, conservation and research.
Data is updated weekly during the nesting season by Tammy Smith, the Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project Coordinator.
