North Carolina WRC Sea Turtle Project

Carolina Beach is located on the northern end of Pleasure Island, south of Wilmington, and is part of the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project. Since 1989, volunteers with the Carolina Beach Turtle Project have been monitoring and protecting sea turtle nests on Pleasure Island, including Freeman Park, next to Carolina Beach Inlet.
