Oppe (BBQ490)

"Oppe" (BBQ490) is a juvenile Kemp's ridley that was captured during entanglement netting operations in Lavaca-Matagorda Bay near Port Lavaca, Texas, as part of a collaboration with Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston, TX to examine Kemp's ridley habitat use patterns in the Gulf of Mexico and to honor the Green Team students at Oppe Elementary school in Galveston, who were instrumental in getting the Kemp's ridley recently named as the official sea turtle of Texas.
