Redlow- redlight

While tagging Redlow on Manasota Key, we worked with red lights to minimize the disturbance to the turtle. While the 3 golden rules From FWC are intended for avoiding disorientions, they also work well for any beach related work on turtles. #1- Keep it low (direct light to the ground to minimize light spread); #2- Keep it long (long wavelengths such as red are less disruptive); #3 Keep it shielded (to limit lateral visibility).
