ecOceanica & Grupo de Tortugas Marinas - Peru (GTM-Peru)

GTM-Peru is a Peruvian-based research group created in 2000 with the ultimate goal to recuperate and conserve the species of sea turtles in Peru and subsequently in the East Pacific Region. Our work is mainly research-based and focused in understanding relevant aspects of the biology and ecology of sea turtles as well as investigate and monitor impacts of human activities on sea turtle populations.

To reach our conservation goals we conduct research using a
multidisciplinary approach that includes the use of tools from population genetics, GIS, remote sensing among others. We also conduct public awareness activities along the Peruvian coast.

GTM-Peru is part of the Peruvian NGO ecOceanica.
