Students' Sea turtle Conservation Network

SSTCN is a voluntary non funded group comprising mostly of senior school and college students and a few working people from different walks of life.

The group's main activities are conservation and education.

Through the turtle nesting season, SSTCN volunteers patrol a 7 Km stretch on the Chennai coast collecting olive ridley sea turtle eggs and relocating them in a hatchery, and safely releasing thousands of hatchlings into the sea every year.

Turtle Walks attract School and University students as well as members of the public and serves as a platform for educational and awareness activities.

Working with sea turtles since 1988
