TURTLE FOUNDATION

The purpose of the Turtle Foundation is the worldwide protection and conservation of sea turtles.

The Turtle Foundation is particularly committed to keep administration costs to a minimum and to concentrate on clearly outlined and realistic projects only.

The Turtle Foundation focuses on promoting the worldwide prohibition of commercial exploitation of turtles and their eggs, on site aid to stop the current looting of turtle nests and to prevent it from occurring in the future,
constant lobbying at governments and other authorities and
promoting the prohibition of turtle slaughtering and trade.

The Turtle Foundation is currently operating nesting beach protection programs in East-Kalimantan/Indonesia with an annual "output" of nearly 1 MILLION HATCHLINGS PER YEAR!

Since 2008 the Turtle Foundation is running a successful nesting beach protection program on Cape Verde Islands.

Founded in October 2002, East Coast Biologists, Inc. (ECB), is a not-for-profit organization that conducts and supports scientific research and education. Employees of ECB are researchers and biologists whose focus is on scientific research of marine communities. The majority of its members are graduate biologists and professionals with experience or expertise in marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Collectively, this group has over 75 years of academic and professional scientific experience. Areas of support and research include nesting and in-water marine turtle research, herpetological research/monitoring, small mammal population studies, marine fish and invertebrate research, seagrass and macroalgal research and monitoring, and beach restoration. The majority of funding is from scientific research grants, and local and state government contracts. The mission of ECB is to support environmental research, monitoring, and education on a local and global scale for the benefit of preserving and maintaining natural resources for present and future generations.
