Description:
Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire (STCB) is a non-governmental research and conservation organization that has been protecting sea turtles since 1991. The small Caribbean island of Bonaire is our headquarters and home to three of the world’s six endangered or critically endangered species of marine turtles: the hawksbill, green, and loggerhead turtle.
STCB aims to achieve its mission by:
• Building a strong case for sea turtle conservation through applied research;
• Implementing proactive management and conservation actions to protect Bonaire's sea turtles and their environments;
• Communicating effectively through education, training and advocacy to enhance awareness of sea turtle conservation issues; and
• Developing strategic partnerships and networks to protect Bonaire's turtles locally and throughout their migratory ranges.
We are a member of the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network and a project partner of the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance.
