Variations: Dermochelys coriacea, Leatherback
The largest of the seven species of marine turtle. The leatherback turtle is the only marine turtle that is not a hard-shell and takes its name from its leathery shell. It roams the oceans feeding on jellyfish and other gelatinous organisms. It is classified by the IUCN as critically endangered .
