Rathke's gland

Rathke's glands are paired exocrine organs embedded along the inframarginal scutes or in the inguinal region on the ventral side of hawksbill, ridley and green turtles. The exact role of the Rathke's glands remains unknown, although some researchers have suggested that secretions from these glands in ridley turtles are involved in the arribada behavior.
