Background
Virgil Caine is an immature female golden eagle caught while wintering in the mountains of Virginia in March 2008. She was named after a fictional confederate soldier from Virginia commemorated in a 1960s song. This eagle is part of a multi-county project in western Virginia to document the use of the highlands by eagles. Join us in following her migration up and down the Appalachian Mountains from Virginia to Canada.
