RRA985 ("Stickney") is a juvenile green sea turtle that was outfitted and released with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 202 transmitter on 6 August 2006. This turtle was captured during STFERL entanglement netting operations near Port Aransas, Texas, as part of a two-year study funded by Texas Sea Grant to examine the distribution of sea turtles in Texas bays. This was the first green turtle captured via STFERL netting operations in the Port Aransas area. Another green turtle ("Heddy"), which was rehabilitated by the ARK program, was outfitted with an STFERL satellite transmitter and released near Port Aransas on 24 July 2006.
This turtle has been nicknamed "Stickney" in honor of Dr. Robert Stickney, the director of the Texas Sea Grant Program.
