Background

This youg harbour seal named Pluton, has been saved in the north of France (in the Baie de Somme) the 7th august 2005. At that time he only weighted 10kgs! He has spent about 3 months in our rehabilitation center where we have taken care of him and fed him actively with herrings. By the end of october he had successfully reached 40kgs of weight. Therefore it was time for him to go back to wildlife.
The release took place the 27th october 2005 at Le Hourdel in Baie de Somme. Pluton went very smoothly and a few minutes after opening his cage, he quickly made his way directly to the ocean! This lucky fellow was welcome by another seal swimming in front of him and soon enough they quickly went away.
