Background
"Lady Lisa" is a 30 kg juvenile loggerhead sea turtle that was caught 7/31/07 in a loggerhead in-water research project conducted by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Marine Resources Division. The turtle, like all juveniles in this project, was brought on board and "worked up." Although pretty spunky, "Lady Lisa" was thin, had a heavy load of barnacles indicating lethargy in the ocean, and her blood values were poor. These symptoms are in line with the Debilitated Turtle Syndrome (DTS) that commonly affects juvenile loggerheads along the Southeastern United States. The disease was still in the early stages allowing a quick recovery. "Lady Lisa" is being tracked as part of a study to find out more about DTS.

- This map connects positions generated by the ARGOS system designated as location codes (lc) '3', '2', '1', 'A'.
- The static maps also shows locations of class 'A' as small black circles which are not connected by a route line.
- Bathymetry layers are derived from the GEBCO Digital Atlas published by the British Oceanographic Data Centre on behalf of the IOC and IHO, 2003, and the ETOPO2 Global 2' Elevations published by NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center.
- Sea surface temperature is derived from NOAA's GOES Daily Sea Surface Temperature data.
