"Breesy" is a juvenile Kemp's ridley that was captured during STFERL entanglement netting operations in Calcasieu Lake near Cameron, LA on 12 August 2011 as part of a study examining the effects of the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill on sea turtle assemblages in Louisiana waters for the Natural Resource Damage Assessment. It was outfitted with a Wildlife Computers MK10-AF Fastloc GPS transmitter and released ~ 1.5 km south of its capture location on the same day as capture. BBQ403 was nicknamed "Breesy" by the TAMUG STFERL staff, in honor of Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints football team, and their first pre-season game of the 2011 season, which occurred on the same day.
