Background

Thanks to the Libyan Sea Turtle Program (LibSTP) and the support of the Environment General Authority of Libya, it was possible to equip the first nesting loggerhead turtle with a satellite transmitter in Libya. The female named Hana nested on a beach close to Misurata, Libya, on 19 July 2009. Its CCL and CCW were 70.5 cm and 63.4 cm, respectively. This tracking study is a joint initiative of EGA, RAC/SPA, and the SZN of Napoli.
