05.08.10: Jewel completed her nesting season on the 24.01.01 when she laid her fifth nest on the northern shores of the uninhabited island of East Caicos. She then moved to Philips Reef, a few miles offshore of East Caicos, where she was originally captured, and seems to be resident there.

Background
Jewel was landed by a fisher in South Caicos on the 12.10.09. She had sustained minor damage to the scales at the end of her front flippers, but was otherwise in good health. She was rather plump and showed some scarring on her shoulders which may have been a result of mating activity. She was treated and satellite tagged later that evening and release the next day close to where she was caught. Jewel is named after the DECR Deputy Director Ms Jewel Batchasingh.
