Background

Nemo was incidentally captured by the trawler "Pegaso" from Mazara del Vallo (Italy). The crew is actively contributing to WWF Italy's turtle programme and brought the turtle to the WWF Turtle Center in Lampedusa. After checking the health status Nemo was included in the satellite tracking project.

This is a joint project by WWF Italy and University of Rome "La Sapienza", co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment.
