Satellite Tracking
Ribbon Rose - Angola LNG olive ridley tracking project
A project of Western Australian Sea Turtle Satellite Tracking Project.
Background
Ribbon Rose is the sixth turtle to be fitted with a transmitter this season. She came ashore at around 11:00pm on the 22 Dec 2008 to lay her relatively small clutch of only 69 eggs. Interestingly we have met this female before, having tagged her the previous season on the 6 Dec 2007.
This project is managed on behalf of Angola LNG by Mr Warren Klein/Tim Baynham(AngolaLNG Wildlife Advisors)and Dr Kellie Pendoley(Specialist sea turtle biologist)

- This map connects positions generated by the ARGOS system designated as location codes (lc) '3', '2', '1', '0', 'A'.
- The static maps also shows locations of class 'B' as small black circles which are not connected by a route line.
- Bathymetry layers are derived from the GEBCO Digital Atlas published by the British Oceanographic Data Centre on behalf of the IOC and IHO, 2003, and the ETOPO2 Global 2' Elevations published by NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center.
- Sea surface temperature is derived from NOAA's GOES Daily Sea Surface Temperature data.
