Silvana is a sub-adult female blue shark, measuring 1,93 metres fork length. She was captured in Uruguayan waters (Southwestern Atlantic Ocean) during the morning of June 8th by the research vessel "Aldebaran", while conducting a large pelagics survey. With the aim of generating knowledge about her movements and habitat use, she was equipped with a satellite transmitter (Wildlife Computers SPOT) by a team of Uruguayan scientists.

SEATURTLE.ORG collaborates with Argos to help scientists and conservationists manage and analyse their valuable animal tracking data.
