Satellite Tracking
Furmage - Northern Cyprus 2010
A project of Marine Turtle Conservation Project.
Background
This was our seventh satellite female of the season, so the volunteers were all keen to lend a hand with the attachment as it could be the last of the year. It was a busy night on the beach with 5 green nests and 5 other activities. This satellite green laid one clutch at Alagadi in 2003 and four in 2007, and this was her fourth and final nest here this season. We were expecting her as she had been up on the beach twice the night before looking for a suitable spot to nest. She was named Furmage by a lucky turtle sponsor.

- This map connects positions generated by the ARGOS system designated as location codes (lc) '3', '2', '1', 'A'.
- The static maps also shows locations of class 'B' as small black circles which are not connected by a route line.
- Bathymetry layers are derived from the GEBCO Digital Atlas published by the British Oceanographic Data Centre on behalf of the IOC and IHO, 2003, and the ETOPO2 Global 2' Elevations published by NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center.
- Sea surface temperature is derived from NOAA's GOES Daily Sea Surface Temperature data.
