Satellite Tracking
Charlie - Northern Cyprus 2010
A project of Marine Turtle Conservation Project.
Background
Charlie is our first satellite turtle of 2010. She laid her first nest of the season on 2nd June and came back for her second clutch on the 15th. She swam back out to sea in the early hours of the 16th June with a transmitter firmly in place and has since been back three times to lay subsequent clutches.
Charlie was selected for her long breeder history here at Alagadi. This is her 5th breeding year since 1995. She was most recently here in 2006.

- This map connects positions generated by the ARGOS system designated as location codes (lc) '3', '2', '1', 'A'.
- The static maps also shows locations of class 'B' as small black circles which are not connected by a route line.
- Bathymetry layers are derived from the GEBCO Digital Atlas published by the British Oceanographic Data Centre on behalf of the IOC and IHO, 2003, and the ETOPO2 Global 2' Elevations published by NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center.
- Sea surface temperature is derived from NOAA's GOES Daily Sea Surface Temperature data.
