Background

"Ferdinand Magellan" is part of a partnership program with Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. This little loggerhead was raised at the Aquarium and released into the Gulf Stream waters offshore of North Carolina. Prior to release, (Insert name) was outfitted with a high-tech, miniature solar satellite tag. The tag was applied by Dr. Kate Mansfield of the University of Central Florida using a method developed by Dr. Kate and colleagues (Mansfield et al., 2014).
