Background

Nahdha means 'renaissance' and was encountered on Oman National Day in the Gulf of Masirah close to the town of Sarab. Considered to be a sub-adult this whale was not shy and surprisingly approached the both research team's survey vessels, taking considerable interest in them, spy hopping to take a look at those on board and circling the boat. This is likely to be a new whale to the photo-identification catalogue, and in time the genetic sample taken will allow the team to determine if this whale is male or female. Give young Nahdha a thumbs and share the adventures of this curious whale!
