“Frank” was named for Frank Wojcik, Founder and Director of the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. As a long time businessman, fisherman, and resident of the Florida Keys, he became concerned with the deteriorating conditions of the beaches and waters that he loved, and noticed that sea turtles were becoming more and more rare throughout the Keys. Over twenty-five years ago, Mr. Wojcik decided to use his business acumen to form a non-profit foundation that provides the opportunity for boat owners to donate their unwanted vessels, which still today generates proceeds that are used to support sea turtle research and conservation programs in the U.S. and abroad.
