Nancy is a female green turtle who was tagged after a nesting attempt on Trisel Beach at Ningaloo. She was released at 0200 AM on 17 January 2018. She was 99.9 cm CCL and 88.9 cm CW.

We attached flipper tags WB16402 (left) and WB16401 (right).

Nancy was tagged with the help of Tara from the Cape Conservation Group, and Mel & Ayesha from the Ningaloo Turtle Program.

Nancy was named by staff at BHP, after Nancy Bird Walton who took flying lessons from Charles Kingsford Smith, launched outback ambulance services and founded the Australian Women Pilot's Association. Her achievements were remarkable in an era when women were discouraged from wearing pants, let alone flying planes.
