Background

"So Beached Bro' Johnson" was captured while courting a female green in the shallows at Sandy Cape, on the NW tip of Fraser Island.
He was 102cm long, and was not previously tagged.
He was taken to the Sandy Cape Lighthouse, where the tracker and flipper tags were attached and skin biopsy samples were taken for DNA and stable isotope analysis.

He continued courting for a week, took a 2 week 110km journey down the Sandy Straits to the bottom of Fraser Island to his home foraging range, and was back courting again at Sandy Cape for a week at the end of November 2016, and then went back to his home range.
